On Saturday, April 27, a fire destroyed one of Lincoln’s oldest buildings. The “Up Country Apartments”, once home to the town’s only hospital, now held ten of Lincoln’s only affordable apartments and an ice cream shop. Each of the ten apartments was occupied by a member of our community, several had lived there for over a decade. These were kitchen staff, bar tenders, retail workers, construction workers, retirees etc. Each of these families/individuals lost everything in the fire, including several beloved cats that are still missing.
